BUDDHA PHILANTHROPY
OUR VALUES
At Buddha Philanthropy, we are driven by a fundamental belief: successful nonprofits are born from a harmonious alignment of shared purpose.
When a nonprofit's mission, operational framework, leadership, and philanthropic vision seamlessly converge, remarkable transformations occur. Whether catalyzing innovative programs or actualizing essential infrastructure projects, the fusion of aligned intent and philanthropic vision unleashes extraordinary change.
Despite prevailing misconceptions that fundraising alone catalyzes impact, we recognize that optimizing business operations and models are equally instrumental. While professional fundraisers play a pivotal role, comprising 30% of the equation, the lion's share—70%—rests upon organizational cohesion. This cohesion, epitomized by leadership and board engagement, is pivotal in actualizing core values and articulating tangible impact.
Drawing on nearly two decades of expertise in fundraising and board management, Jyothsna Buddharaju founded Buddha Philanthropy in 2023. Our mission? To fortify the social sector by collaborating with funders and philanthropists to support mission-driven organizations, leveraging our proficiency in board development and fundraising.

CASE STUDY
Moyo Nguvu Cultural Arts Center, established in 1990 in Denver, CO, holds the distinction of being Colorado's first Pan-African cultural and healing arts center promoting diversity and inclusiveness. After a brief hiatus between 2014 and 2018, Moyo emerged under new leadership, revitalized and focused on providing culturally relevant arts to Denver’s low-income families.
In 2023, as part of the Community Builders initiative by the Nonprofit Finance Fund and the Colorado Health Foundation, Moyo embarked on developing a long-term revenue generation strategy. Partnering with Buddha Philanthropy, the center spent eight months crafting a scalable program model, a comprehensive revenue plan, and implementing strategies to enhance fundraising and earned income. This collaborative effort also pinpointed key funding needs for the organization’s infrastructure to be supported by the initiative funders.
Looking ahead, Moyo is now poised for expansion and will soon relocate to a new 3,000 sq. ft. facility in the historic Five Corners area of metro Denver. This move will enable Moyo to scale its community impact, offering regular programming for adults and youth, alongside its ongoing special events.
